What is Deep Nostalgia?
Deep Nostalgia is a feature developed by MyHeritage that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to animate still photos of people, bringing them to life in a video. It's like our friend, a powerful AI, took a photo of your grandma and made it move, smile, and blink just like she did in real life.
How does Deep Nostalgia work?
Deep Nostalgia uses a technology called "deep learning," a type of AI that can learn from large amounts of data. It's been trained on tons of videos of people's faces, learning the subtle movements and expressions that make a person look real. When you upload a photo of someone, Deep Nostalgia uses this knowledge to create an animated version. It’s like having a personal AI artist working on your photos!
Can I use Deep Nostalgia on any photo?
You can upload photos of any person, but the results will be better if the photo is:
- High-quality: A clear photo with good lighting makes it easier for our AI friend to recognize the face and create realistic animations.
- In focus: Blurred or out-of-focus photos won’t work as well.
- Of a person's face: It should be clear that the photo shows someone's face.
What if I don’t want my photo animated?
That's perfectly fine! You have complete control over your photos. If you’d rather not see your photo animated, you can always opt out of using Deep Nostalgia. You can also choose to delete the animation once it’s created.
